The internship runs in a real working dive shop, not a training centre dressed up as one. The IDC is led by Will Welbourn, a Platinum Course Director with a 100% Instructor Examination pass rate over the past decade.

Coconut Tree Divers is the only PADI 5 Star IDC Centre in Half Moon Bay, West End, Roatan, Honduras. We run four boat dives a day from this dock. Divemaster candidates work alongside the crew from day one — not shadowing the operation, but part of it.
The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef is the second largest barrier reef in the world. Over 80 dive sites are within range. When you finish the Divemaster programme here, you've briefed guests on these sites, led groups through these walls, and worked conditions that trained divers pay to experience.
Will Welbourn has been the Course Director here since 2003. His candidates sit the PADI Instructor Examination with 485 qualified instructors already trained through this centre behind them. The track record is public. Look it up.

Will has been training professional divers from this beach since 2003. He's a multiple Platinum PADI Course Director Award recipient — recognition given to the top tier of Course Director performance globally. His 100% PADI Instructor Examination pass rate over the past decade is the number worth paying attention to.
IDC cohorts are capped at six candidates. That's deliberate. Six candidates means Will gives direct feedback on every presentation, every skill demonstration, every standards review. You're not one of a large group. You're in front of the Course Director the entire time.
