PADI beginner diver courses
New to diving, or ready for your first card? Discover Scuba Diving is $110 for half a day and one reef dive, no certification needed. PADI Scuba Diver is $290 over two days. PADI Open Water is $400 all in, two to three days, four reef dives, and a certification that works anywhere in the world for life.
PADI advanced diver courses
Already certified? Advanced Open Water is $400 all in, five adventure dives and no written exam, and it takes your depth limit to 30 metres. Emergency First Response is $145 for a day, open to divers and non-divers. PADI Rescue Diver is $400, ten skill exercises and two staged scenarios. Most divers rate Rescue the best course they ever did.
PADI professional courses in Roatan
Ready to make diving the job? The Roatan Divemaster internship runs six weeks inside our daily operation, from $800 if you already hold Rescue. The PADI IDC is next, run here with Course Director William Welbourn. 627 Divemasters and 485 instructors have certified from this dock.
TDI technical diving in Roatan
Recreational limits stop at 40 metres. We keep going. Roatan’s only on-site TDI Tec Center, from $325, sidemount through to Trimix with Advanced Trimix Instructor Monty Graham, who has been diving sidemount here since 2007.

Before you book a PADI course in Roatan
Which PADI course should I start with?
Open Water, if you want a scuba certification you can use anywhere in the world. Discover Scuba if you just want to try it once. PADI Scuba Diver if you are short on time and still want a card at the end of two days.
How much does a scuba certification in Honduras cost?
PADI Open Water is $400 all in with us: eLearning, all equipment, boat fees and certification processing. Scuba Diver is $290 and Discover Scuba Diving is $110. The Roatan Marine Park fee is the only extra, at $10 a year or $3 a day.
Do I need to finish the eLearning before I arrive?
Ideally yes. It runs four to eight hours depending on the course. Doing it at home means your days in Roatan are spent in the water instead of on a laptop on the deck.
How young can kids start diving?
Ten, for both Scuba Diver and Open Water. Ten and eleven year olds certify as Junior Open Water Divers to 12 metres. Twelve to fourteen certify to 18 metres and dive with a certified adult.
Do I need a medical form?
Yes. A signed PADI medical statement is required before any course starts. If anything on it flags you will need a doctor to sign off, so check it before you fly rather than the morning of your first dive.
Can I do two courses back to back?
Regularly. Open Water into Advanced Open Water is the most common pairing and it saves you a day. We also run EFR alongside Rescue Diver without adding days to your trip.
How long should I allow to learn to dive in Roatan?
Three days covers Open Water comfortably once the eLearning is done. Five gives you Open Water and Advanced back to back. A week means you certify and still get fun dives in before you fly home.
What does PADI Master Scuba Diver take?
Rescue Diver, fifty logged dives and five specialty certifications. Tell us what you already hold and we will work out which specialties finish it fastest while you are on the island.
