Coconut Tree Divers is one of the longest-running dive shops in West End, Roatan. For more than two decades, people have come through our doors to make their first dive, log their hundredth, become Divemaster's or instructors, or just spend a week doing as little on land as possible.
As a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center, we run four or more dives a day, teach PADI courses from beginner to instructor level, and offer technical diving through Roatan Tec Center. There’s a lot of experience behind what we do, and we put it to work every day. We're a proper working dive shop. Boats coming and going, tanks being filled, courses happening and people from all over the world hanging around between dives.

Four Daily Fun Dives.
We’re on the water at the entrance to West End, open seven days. The morning two-tank runs deeper sites and needs an Advanced Open Water card or equivalent experience. Afternoon singles are open to any certified diver.
Nitrox fills on site. 12L and 15L tanks both available, so if you’re a heavy breather just ask for the 15. Tanks get rinsed after every dive and your logbook gets signed at the end of the day.

We live and breathe scuba. Mostly through a regulator.
Coconut Tree Divers has been training divers in West End since 2002. And we’ve been busy. As of May 15, 2026, PADI records for Coconut Tree Divers show 9,038 PADI diving certifications, including 5,091 Open Water Diver certifications, along with 627 Divemaster certifications and 485 Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.

Daily Certified Diving
Two tanks leave at 8:30 AM. Single dives leave at 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM. Night dives are by request; Macro Bay night dives are by appointment.
A Social & Fun Dock
Divers arrive from all over the world. Come alone and there is a good chance you will know somebody by your second tank.

The Reef Is Basically Our Backyard
More than 80 dive sites within boat range. Walls, coral gardens, channels, swim-throughs and some very good reasons to keep adding dives.
From the entrance to West End, sites such as Spooky Channel, The Maze and Texas Reef are within easy reach. Water temperatures generally sit around 26–29°C, with visibility commonly around 20–30 meters.

Do I need to be certified to dive in Roatan?
No. Discover Scuba Diving takes you on a real reef dive with an instructor beside you, no certification needed. If you want the card, PADI Open Water takes two to three days.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, if you can. We’re one of the busiest shops in West End and we sell out several days ahead through high season. Walk-ins are welcome when there’s space on the boat.
What are the water conditions like?
Water sits between 26 and 29°C year round and visibility usually runs 20 to 30 meters. A 3mm shorty is plenty for most people. Some divers go skin in summer.
What happens if the weather turns?
We move the boats around the point to Flowers Bay on the south shore, seven minutes by road. That mostly happens October through January when a north swell pushes into West End. You still dive.
Where exactly are you in West End?
On the beach at the entrance to West End, Roatan. The boats are tied up out front from early morning. Walking distance from most accommodation in West End.
Can cruise ship passengers dive with you?
Yes. A two-tank cruise ship trip is $130, including equipment and transport, with a separate boat and instructor scheduled around your ship’s timings.
